At The Ark

At The Ark is a Queensland-based registered charity established in 2010, supporting children, individuals and families impacted by child sexual abuse, domestic and family violence, and trauma.

Founded from lived experience, At The Ark exists to ensure that people facing the devastating impacts of abuse and trauma do not have to navigate their journey alone. Their work is built around three key pillars — PREVENT, PROTECT and RESTORE.

At The Ark provide trauma-informed counselling and recovery support, practical assistance for individuals and families in crisis, trauma recovery programs, and education and prevention initiatives designed to strengthen families, protect children and equip communities. Their prevention resources have reached more than 240 schools, while their broader programs and services support hundreds of individuals and families each year.

At The Ark works collaboratively with specialist organisations and community partners to extend the reach and impact of their services. This includes facilitating intensive trauma recovery programs and helping remove financial barriers that can prevent survivors of domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse and other forms of interpersonal trauma from accessing recovery support.

Their current priorities include expanding access to counselling and trauma recovery, strengthening early intervention and prevention initiatives, and developing sustainable funding pathways that allow vulnerable individuals and families to access support regardless of their financial circumstances.

At The Ark combines lived experience, professional trauma-informed practice, established community partnerships and more than 15 years of frontline experience to help people move beyond simply surviving trauma towards recovery, resilience and hope.
