The Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute is an independent, internationally renowned medical research facility, with a history spanning more than 99 years. Our mission is to reduce death and disability from the deadly trio of diseases: cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity.
The Institute has more than 430 scientists, scientific support staff, clinicians, health professionals and students across 30 laboratories who are committed to discovering cures and new treatments for heart disease, diabetes and associated metabolic diseases.
With Australia facing an ageing population and rapidly growing rates of chronic disease worldwide, our work has never been more important to both Australian and global communities. Our visionary supporters make this work possible, helping us move closer to a cure for diabetes and saving lives from heart disease.
