Birthing Kit Foundation Australia (BKFA) is an Australian Humanitarian organisation working to make childbirth safer for women and newborns in vulnerable under resourced communities around the world.

Our vision is a world where every woman has access to a safe and clean birth. We address the global challenge of unsafe childbirth by providing Clean Birth Kits, education and support to communities where access to essential birthing supplies and healthcare resources is limited. Without basic hygiene supplies, women and babies face increased risks of preventable infections and complications during childbirth.

We have supplied over 3 million clean birth kits to women in remote regions of over 30 countries, trained over 10,000 traditional birth attendants and contributed to the prevention of FGM in communities that were killing their women in childbirth.

Established in South Australia in 2006, BKFA has built a strong global network of volunteers, health professionals and local partners to deliver practical, community-led solutions. Our approach combines the distribution of essential birth supplies with education and collaboration to support safer birthing practices.

Our current priorities are expanding access to Clean Birth Kits, strengthening partnerships with local organisations and supporting education through midwifery and birthing attendant education. Funding will help BKFA provide more Clean Birth Kits and training to women who need them.
