Bridge Builders

Bridge Builders is a grassroots charity based in Mandurah, Western Australia, working to break the cycle of poverty and create brighter futures for vulnerable children and families across the Peel region.

Every week, they support families facing impossible choices between food, rent, electricity, and essential care for their children. Through practical, compassionate, and community-driven programs, Bridge Builders provide immediate relief while helping families regain stability, dignity, and hope.

Services include a Community Food Pantry, emergency relief, birthday in a box, gift of Christmas, and Backpack Buddies, a rapidly growing initiative that discreetly provides children experiencing hunger with backpacks filled with food for weekends. What began supporting just five children now reaches over 250 children through 18 local schools, ensuring children are not stressed heading into the weekend and can arrive at school Monday morning nourished, supported, and ready to learn.

Beyond food relief, Bridge Builders connects families with broader supports including housing assistance, parenting resources, community services, and wellbeing programs. They believe everybody deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.

As a small local charity, Bridge Builders work directly on the ground with families every day, responding quickly to emerging community needs and developing innovative solutions that create lasting impact.
