Buddha House Centre for Advanced Buddhist Studies

Buddha House Centre for Advanced Buddhist Studies is a not-for-profit Buddhist centre in Magill, South Australia, providing education, meditation and community support in the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. Affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, Buddha House also contributes to preserving and sharing Tibet’s rich Buddhist cultural heritage, including its philosophy, psychology, art, sacred music and dance, and traditional knowledge.

Their programs welcome people of all backgrounds and provide opportunities to develop compassion, wisdom and wellbeing through Buddhist teachings, meditation and practical community activities. Buddha House also offers community support, activities for children and families, volunteering opportunities and initiatives that foster connection, kindness and care.

Buddha House is located in a local heritage-listed building dating from 1866, which provides the physical home for this educational, cultural and community work. Maintaining and improving the centre is an ongoing priority, including essential repairs, heritage conservation, accessibility and appropriate improvements that keep it safe, welcoming and fit for purpose.

Donations will be directed through the Buddha House Building Fund, which holds DGR Item 1 endorsement, and used solely for purposes for which that Fund may lawfully be used. Such support helps sustain the facilities from which Buddha House’s educational, cultural and community work is delivered.
