We are Australia’s leading cancer charity, standing by everyone living with cancer. We work across every area of cancer, supporting communities where and when it’s needed, leading NSW towards a cancer free future. We will achieve this by changing the path of cancer and making sure no one walks alone.
As an evidence-based organisation, Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) invests in research that improves our collective knowledge about cancer and helps to identify the areas where we can have the greatest impact. Meeting the information and supportive care needs of people affected by cancer continues to be a strategic priority for CCNSW.
Our business activities include support services such as:
– Practical support: including transport to treatment, accommodation near treatment, home help, financial and legal support, and Cancer Council Information Services.
– Psychological support: including our 13 11 20 Information and Support Line, Peer Support Groups, Telephone Support Groups, and Online Community.
– Information support: including our “Understanding Cancer” Information booklets, webinar series, and podcasts.
CCNSW receives 94% of our funding from community, and non-government sources. This enables us to have an independent voice and ensures that community is at the heart of what we do.
