CareerTrackers

CareerTrackers is a national, Indigenous-led non-profit organisation that advances self-determination and long-term economic empowerment for First Nations people by creating systemic pathways into professional leadership. Their vision is to foster First Nations excellence across universities, corporate workplaces and community leadership roles.

CareerTrackers directly address the entrenched disadvantage and systemic barriers faced by First Nations university students who lack established professional networks or are the first in their families to pursue higher education. CareerTrackers is uniquely placed to bridge this gap through their immersive, multi-year support model, delivering intensive readiness coaching and career-aligned internship placements.

Guided by their current strategic plan, their priorities are to establish an embedded Leadership, Learning & Development function across students, staff, and their 1,671-strong graduate community; formalise a National Alumni program; implement a new employer co-investment model; and build ecosystem partnerships with national Indigenous organisations. They are also focused on accelerating Indigenous women into professional careers, modernising their digital infrastructure, and establishing a national narrative supported by a diversified funding model.

Grant funding will directly back these capacity-building priorities, enabling CareerTrackers to safely scale their ecosystem, multiply their impact, and enhance their core delivery. This model has proven multi-generational impact: graduates are 30% more likely to secure immediate employment than the national average, and 83% of interns gain high-value, practical career skills. CareerTrackers have successfully launched long-term careers, cultivating a powerful network of First Nations leaders driving lasting community wealth.
