Organisation Summary

Central Tablelands and Blue Mountains Community Legal Centre (CTBMCLC) is a not-for-profit, generalist community legal centre providing free legal services to people experiencing disadvantage across the Blue Mountains, Oberon, Lithgow, Bathurst and Orange regions.

We assist individuals facing legal issues arising from family and domestic violence, housing insecurity, financial hardship and discrimination. Our work particularly supports women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and those living in rural or isolated communities. We take an integrated approach, recognising that meeting a person’s legal needs often also requires addressing their social and economic circumstances.

CTBMCLC auspices two regional programs:

  • Blue Mountains Tenants’ Advice and Advocacy Service (BMTAAS), offering advice, advocacy and representation to tenants in the Blue Mountains.
  • The Cooperative Legal Services Delivery Program (Central Tablelands), strengthening collaboration between legal and support services to improve access to justice across the region.

Many of our clients experience multiple, compounding barriers to justice especially those affected by domestic and family violence or living with mental health conditions. Navigating the legal system often requires simultaneous access to housing, health, and other social supports, which are frequently fragmented or inaccessible.
