Organisation Summary

Centre Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) aims to address the serious impacts of domestic and family violence (dfv) through the provision of safe, accessible and appropriate services and prevention in our community of Moreton City. Although anyone can be a victim of domestic violence, the gendered nature of domestic violence means the vast majority of survivors are women and children.

CADA has over 75 staff who work from 4 offices, 4 court houses, 7 police stations, and co-locations within schools and community agencies. We provide Crisis and Court support, co-location in Police Stations, run the High-Risk Team and work in recovery and healing at the Women’s Wellbeing Hub with children, young people and families. In 2024 CADA provided support to over 23 000 community members.

CADA believes:
– all people have the right to be safe and free from violence at all times.
– services to the community must be based on equity, irrespective of people’s sexuality, gender, culture, age, ability or religion.
– in being compassionate and respectful of the diversity of healing processes and pathways to empowerment.
– our work is based on evidence of best practice.
– working towards healing the needs of individuals and the prevention of domestic and family violence requires partnering with and working alongside a range of community partners including Government.

Our priority through this funding is to create responsive, flexible programs that meet the needs of those groups that do not ordinarily access DFV Services, such as older women.
