Change For Sam is a registered charity, founded in memory of Samantha Fraser, who was tragically murdered on Phillip Island in 2018. Our vision is a community where every victim-survivor of family violence can access immediate safety, security and peace of mind as they rebuild their lives.
Family violence is a national crisis, with one woman killed by a current or former partner every nine days. When leaving violent relationships, victim-survivors often face gaps in protection, and too many fall through the cracks of an overstretched system. Despite government funding, many people cannot access personal safety devices due to cost or eligibility restrictions.
Change For Sam grew from lived experience and a commitment to fixing these gaps. We are a grassroots charity partnered with agencies including WRISC Family Violence Support and The Salvation Army Alexis Family Violence Response Model.
Our priorities are to expand device access, build long-term partnerships, and ensure every person at risk has immediate protection. Funding will allow us to purchase and monitor more devices, meet growing demand, and create sustainable statewide access to this life-saving support.
