Community for Coastal and Cassowary Conservation (C4) is a grassroots, community-run organisation based in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland. For over 30 years, we’ve worked to protect the region’s rich biodiversity with a special focus on the endangered Southern Cassowary and its coastal rainforest habitat.
Our strength lies in community engagement: we bring locals, Traditional Owners, scientists, schools and volunteers together to care for Country through education, citizen science, habitat restoration, and wildlife care.
We operate a large central conservation centre that is open to the public, deliver environmental programs for all ages, and advocate for stronger planning protections for threatened species.
We consider ourselves a bridge between people and place, helping the community understand, value, and take action to protect the unique environment we call home.
