Creating Chances

Creating Chances is a youth development social enterprise and registered charity, dedicated to empowering young people through sport-based life skills and leadership programs. We work with over 100 NSW Department of Education schools and numerous community partners, reaching more than 10,000 young people each year, many from First Nations, refugee, migrant, and low-socioeconomic backgrounds.

Our mission is to create a more inclusive and cohesive society by providing opportunities for young people to become empowered and to reach their potential. Our key offering is the Creating Chances Youth Development Pathway, a structured, evidence-based pathway supporting young people from Year 6 to Year 12. Using sport as a vehicle, the pathway is designed to build resilient, confident, capable and future-ready young people who are active citizens in their communities and feel empowered as leaders.
In addition to this structured pathway, we run tailored community programs such as Football United and Rugby Tackle Life, specifically supporting underrepresented groups including young women, newly arrived migrants, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities

Our approach is grounded in strong local partnerships with Migrant Resource Centres, schools, Intensive English Centres, and Multicultural and Local Health Districts, ensuring programs meet local needs. Young people in these communities often face challenges such as disengagement from education, lack of access to employment, gender inequality, and low physical activity levels.

Through safe, structured, and inclusive environments, our programs promote wellbeing, a sense of belonging, and clear pathways to education, employment, and leadership, equipping young people with the tools necessary to thrive.
