Crohn's and Colitis Australia

Crohn’s and Colitis Australia (CCA) is the national peak body supporting Australians living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. For more than 40 years, CCA has empowered people with IBD to live fearlessly while driving toward a future free from Crohn’s and colitis.

IBD is a lifelong, incurable and increasingly prevalent condition affecting almost 180,000 Australians, many diagnosed in adolescence and early adulthood. The disease can have a profound impact on physical health, mental wellbeing, education, employment and quality of life, yet awareness and support remain limited.

CCA is uniquely placed to address these challenges through its national reach, lived-experience leadership, trusted partnerships with clinicians and researchers, and evidence-based support programs. We provide free education, peer support, information services, advocacy and awareness initiatives to help people better manage their condition and navigate complex healthcare systems. We also advocate for equitable access to world-class care, improved treatments and investment in research.

Our current priorities include expanding support services, improving health literacy and access to care, strengthening advocacy efforts, reducing stigma, and funding research that advances treatment and quality of life outcomes. Funding will directly support the delivery and growth of these programs, enabling more Australians with IBD to access timely support, trusted information and community connection.
