The Dyslexia-SPELD Foundation (DSF) is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a wide range of services for individuals with learning difficulties and disorders. Our services are designed to benefit all children with their literacy and learning. We are recognised as a “centre of excellence” in the field of literacy development and in the understanding and response to literacy failure.
All DSF services are guided by the latest scientific and clinical evidence, including its professional training, diagnostic assessments, literacy tutoring, family advice and advocacy, program development, community library and online bookstore. This rigorous approach has two key goals. First, to help people access products and services that are most likely to be effective. Second, to protect people from ineffective products or services that waste their precious time and money.
DSF’s understanding of the evidence base allows it to identify gaps between what people need to support their learning and what evidence-informed services are available to meet those needs. It works hard to close these gaps by developing, trialling, and distributing cost-effective programs and services that support students, families, teachers, and allied health professionals improve their learning and their practice and realise their true potential.
