At ECIA VIC/TAS we believe all children have the right to thrive in within their family and communities. Current AEDC data indicates this is currently not the case with the percentage of children developmentally on track in all 5 domains, (physical health and wellbeing, social competence, emotional maturity, language and cognitive skills, communication and general knowledge) decreasing from 54.8% in 2021 to 52.9% in 2024.
Our work brings together children with developmental delay/disability, their families and the services working with them, to ensure they receive supports of the highest quality to address these vulnerabilities. We do this by advocating for policy and system changes, whilst at the same time building the capacity of all the adults working with them. We act courageously to amplify and uphold the rights of children and families. Driving impactful change, we partner with organisations ready to change the trajectory of children’s lives, to ensure all children have a voice, are able to participate meaningfully in their communities, and become adults that will contribute positively to Australian life.
