Educate Girls

Millions of girls and young women across rural and tribal India continue to face barriers to education, including poverty, gender inequality and deeply rooted social norms. These challenges limit their opportunities and increase their vulnerability to early marriage, exploitation and intergenerational poverty.

Educate Girls works to transform this reality by building strong partnerships with communities, village leaders, local organisations and government systems across India. Through a community-driven approach, the organisation identifies out-of-school girls, engages families, strengthens local education systems and supports girls to enrol, stay in school and achieve meaningful learning outcomes. For adolescent girls and young women who have missed out on formal schooling, Educate Girls also provides second-chance education pathways to help them complete their secondary education.

Working across some of India’s most underserved regions, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Educate Girls has built an extensive network of community partnerships spanning more than 30,000 villages. Through these collaborations, the organisation has supported the enrolment of 2.2 million out-of-school girls and improved learning outcomes for 2.4 million children, while achieving a 92% year-on-year retention rate for girls in its programmes.

By working alongside local communities and government partners, Educate Girls is creating sustainable, large-scale impact, strengthening education systems and ensuring that more girls and young women have the opportunity to learn, thrive and shape their own futures. The organisation aims to impact 3.1 million learners by 2030 and 10 million by 2035, contributing to lasting change across generations.
