Organisation Summary

Our counselling service is based in Launceston, Northern Tasmania. Our mission is to provide a professional, confidential, flexible and compassionate service that is inclusive and easily accessible to anyone in our community.

We originally designed the service based on our experiences working in the sector and extensive feedback from service users who told us they were unable to access the help they needed due to complex eligibility and referral processes, long waiting lists, scarcity of specialist counselling services and cost.

In addition; people seeking help often experience intrusive questioning and sharing of personal information, lack of flexibility in service delivery and arbitrary session limits.
We provide free specialist counselling for children and adults who have experienced sexual assault and other violence.

Now in our eighth year; our two part time counsellors provide between 1200 and 1500 hours of counselling per annum pro bono.

We receive referrals from a wide range of other services including GP’s, mental health practitioners, schools, Child Safety, hospitals, other counsellors and self referrals.
The service is currently run entirely on donations and fundraising activities.

We have developed partnerships with other community groups and businesses who support us in our fundraising efforts.
