Environment Tasmania is an independent not-for-profit and is funded by donations to keep its voice unrestricted and unrelenting.
We are building a resilient Tasmania with flourishing oceans, climate safe communities and a strong Tasmanian brand. We work with local communities and environment groups to safeguard the environment and preserve the Tasmanian way of life for current and future generations. We also work to improve communication networks within the Tasmanian and Australian environmental movements so that we can collectively protect the wild places that Australians love.
We have a proud history of effective campaigning. Our campaigns currently focus on expanding marine protection, saving the Maugean skate from extinction and ending fossil fuel use in Tasmania through a fast but fair energy transition.
