Essence Theatre Productions Limited

Essence Theatre Productions is a not-for-profit independent theatre company based in Wyndham, Victoria, that believes being involved in performing arts can be life-changing. It can build confidence, and resilience and affect our perception of the world around us.

We seek out and bring to life, original Australian stories from diverse backgrounds that have the potential to be transformative, insightful engaging and enlightening.

What we do:
– We celebrate local history. 2025 we are in our 21st year of performances of our show What Was That at Werribee Park mansion.
– We work with local youth through professional training and employment of 26 young stage managers and through our unique ‘Say It Out Loud’ program teaching resilience through performing arts.
– We have run WOMPA (West of Melbourne Performing Arts) one act play festival since 2023.
– We work directly and collaboratively with different cultures, most recently The Yellow Line with the local Maori group nmp.org.au
– We create all our own work some of which are published, award winning, and professionally toured.
– We advocate: We aim to create and build opportunities for performing arts in the outer West of Melbourne.

Current priorities is ensuring our company is sustainable. We currently have no operational funding relying on inkind. Funding support for operational support (marketing and philanthropic engagement) would be a huge step in ensuring Essence can continue and become fully sustainable.
