Farm Raiser

Farm Raiser is a community farm and food relief organisation based in Bellfield, Victoria, working to create a fairer, healthier, and more resilient local food system. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, can access fresh, nutritious, locally grown food with dignity and choice.

We address food insecurity, rising living costs, and disconnection from healthy food by providing an alternative to traditional food relief models. Through our community grocery store and food voucher program, households experiencing hardship can access fresh fruit and vegetables, pantry staples, dairy, eggs, and bread in a welcoming and empowering environment. Much of our produce is grown on-site on our 1.8 acre farm, using regenerative farming practices.

Farm Raiser is uniquely placed to do this work because we combine food production, food relief, environmental sustainability, and community development in one integrated model. We work directly with local families and community members to provide immediate support while building long-term resilience and connection.

Our current priorities include expanding our food relief voucher program, expanding our therapeutic horticulture program for victim/survivors of sexual assault (in partnership with NCASA), and increasing fresh food production. Every dollar donated to our voucher program is converted directly into food vouchers for local households experiencing food insecurity, ensuring 100% of contributions provide immediate access to fresh, nutritious food. This program helps us build a sustainable, scalable model for community-led food relief.
