Farmers for Climate Action

Farmers are at the sharp end of climate change and feel the impacts every day, yet they steward 50% of the landmass in Australia and have the greatest opportunity for impactful change. Farmers for Climate Action (FCA) is a farmer-led organisation that focuses on climate action, leveraging our strong industry and grassroots relationships to ensure farmers can farm forever.

Farmers are a trusted voice in Australia on climate change and our organisation supports them to communicate with the media, and to advocate for sensible, strong solutions from government and industry.

We are an organisation with more than 8400 farmer and grazier members, and our members farm right across the country. In practical terms, FCA is supporting farmers to build climate, carbon and energy literacy and advocate for climate solutions both on and off farm.

FCA acts as the trusted bridge between government, farmers and industry; a single point of reference, bringing the many conversations around sustainability and agriculture together. FCA has a unique convening power to bring together farmers, energy companies, government policy makers, scientists and academia who are all needed to make serious progress on emissions reduction.

Farmers and the agriculture sector must be included in climate advocacy and legislation for climate change mitigation to succeed. We believe that if we mobilise farmers, graziers and agriculturalists to lead climate solutions on-farm and advocate together, we can influence our sector and government to implement climate policies that help prevent further disruption to Australia’s climate and benefit rural communities.
