Feel the Magic

Feel the Magic is an Australian charity supporting children aged 7–18 and their families navigating the grief of losing a parent, sibling or guardian. Our vision is that no child grieves alone. Through evidence-informed programs, we provide free grief education and support that builds resilience, emotional literacy and connection over time.

In Australia, 1 in 20 children will experience the death of a parent before the age of 18. Without appropriate support, these children are at significantly higher risk of poor mental health outcomes, disengagement from school and long-term social isolation. In many communities, particularly outside major cities, access to specialised grief support is limited.

Feel the Magic is uniquely placed to address this gap through structured, family-based programs that support both children and their caregivers. Our programs create safe environments where families can better understand grief, develop coping strategies and connect with others who share similar experiences.

Our current priorities are increasing access to grief education, strengthening program quality through evidence-informed design, and expanding our reach to ensure more children and families can access support when they need it.

In 2025, Feel the Magic supported 791 children across 44 programs nationally. Outcomes consistently show improvements in emotional wellbeing, resilience and social connection, supported by our evaluation framework aligned to national wellbeing indicators.

Through this work, we are not only supporting families in the moment but building the foundations for long-term wellbeing and connection.
