For the past 17 years, Find a Penny Foundation has been a lifeline for thousands of people experiencing hardship across our community. Entirely volunteer-run, with no paid staff, our strength lies in the dedication of more than 200 regular and on-call volunteers who give their time generously to support our mission.

Every week, we provide direct assistance to over 6,000 individuals through our core programs. These include our Food Hamper Corner, which distributes essential groceries and household items; weekly mobile soup kitchens operating in three different locations; volunteering opportunities for students with disabilities from Tuesday to Friday; and our much-loved annual Christmas Street BBQ, which brings people together in the spirit of joy and inclusion.

With demand for support increasing, the challenge we face is ensuring we can keep up with sourcing and delivering groceries. Our driver is currently on the road between six to eight hours daily to meet community needs. To serve more people effectively, we urgently require an additional refrigerated van or truck. This will allow us to expand deliveries, keep food safe, and operate more efficiently, ensuring that no one in need is turned away.
