Footscape

Footscape is an Australian Podiatry charity that assists disadvantaged persons encountering debilitating foot problems. The organisation is registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
Current projects include:
– Provision of shoes and socks to disadvantaged population groups. Painful foot problems affecting homeless and other disadvantaged persons are accentuated as individuals are commonly forced to walk long distances upon poor shoes and poor socks. Footscape is collecting new and second-hand shoes (‘Shoe It Forward’ project) and new socks (‘Sock It To ‘Em’ project) for distribution to recipients of care at project affiliate organisations.
– Foot Care Kits: Footscape assembles basic foot care kits for distribution to persons seeking asylum, homeless persons and Aboriginal persons through project affiliate organisations. Through this project recipients of kits are empowered by accessing resources to undertake daily self care foot practices to promote health and well being.
– Children’s Orthotic Project: Footscape is funding orthotics (shoe inserts) for financially disadvantaged children attending project affiliate organisations for foot problems.
– Asylum Seeker Resource Centre: Footscape has been providing volunteer Podiatry clinical services for recipients of care since 2012
– Community Engagement: Footscape is endeavouring to inform and educate the greater community regarding foot health inequity encountered by disadvantaged persons.
