Organisation Summary

Gari Yala Aboriginal Cultural Fundraising Indigenous Corporation is an Aboriginal‑led, not‑for‑profit charity dedicated to strengthening culture, community wellbeing, and social inclusion across New South Wales. Our mission is to empower Aboriginal people of all ages through culturally grounded programs that celebrate identity, promote healing, and build strong connections between Elders, youth, families, and the wider community. As an ACNC‑registered charity with DGR status, we are committed to delivering high‑impact programs that support cultural education, community resilience, and equitable access to opportunities.

We provide a wide range of services, including youth development programs, cultural workshops, Elders activities, community events, and emergency relief. Our youth programs include cultural camps, leadership activities, and hands‑on learning experiences that strengthen identity and belonging. We deliver cultural workshops in Wiradjuri language, possum‑skin cloak making, kangaroo‑skin burning, weaving, and men’s and women’s cultural business. Our Elders programs include day trips, cultural activities, and social connection events that support wellbeing and reduce isolation.

Gari Yala also provides community support through food hampers during disasters, back‑to‑school programs supplying backpacks and school essentials, and cultural festivals that bring communities together. Our program participants include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, multicultural families, young people, Elders, people with disability, and community members experiencing disadvantage. We are proudly inclusive of all, ensuring every person—regardless of background or ability—has a culturally safe place to learn, participate, and belong.
