Gosford Regional Community Services - Wyoming Community Centre

Gosford Regional Community Services is a community-based, not-for-profit charitable organisation with a 35-year history of supporting people across the NSW Central Coast. Their vision, “Working Together to Build Resilient Communities”, reflects their belief that strong communities are built through practical support, participation, connection and opportunity. From Wyoming Community Centre, they provide information and referral, financial and material assistance, financial counselling, social inclusion and community development programs, skills and education, advocacy, food security initiatives, community activities and Out of School Hours Care. In 2024–25, more than 4,300 people accessed the Community Centre. They work in a diverse community where cost-of-living pressures, financial hardship, social isolation and barriers to participation affect many individuals and families. Gosford Regional Community Services’ long-standing local presence and strong relationships with community members, schools, housing providers, and health and community organisations enable them to respond to needs as they emerge. Two current priorities are their “(free) Financial Counselling service”, helping people experiencing financial hardship to understand their options and regain greater control of their circumstances, and their “Community Garden”, which provides an accessible place for people to grow food, volunteer, learn, connect and participate in their community. Neither program receives ongoing dedicated funding. Gosford Regional Community Services currently sustains these activities through donations and their own organisational resources. Philanthropic support would help them maintain and strengthen these practical, locally based programs and extend their benefit to more people in our community.
