Gudanji For Country

Gudanji For Country Aboriginal Corporation is a grassroots First Nations organisation established in 2021, consolidating decades of work by the Karanjini Rrumburriya clan group — custodians of Women’s Country, Marabana (Mermaid) Country.

Our leadership is intergenerational and women-led, drawing on the profound wisdom of our Elders who have safeguarded our governance systems, cultural practices and Country since time immemorial. We are a living continuum of survival, culture and care, operating at the intersection of Indigenous knowledge, environmental protection and social justice.

We are not a construct of bureaucracy. We are not a product of policy. We are the living, breathing embodiment of an ancient civilisation, still standing, still speaking for our lands and waters.

The Issues We Are Responding To:
Gudanji Country continues to be desecrated by the ongoing onslaught of extractive industries — mining, fracking, and overgrazing — compounding the devastation wrought by climate change. Our waters are poisoned. Our soils are stripped. Our kin, human and non-human alike, are under siege.

Work we are doing:
Our work tackles the many issues which we face via four main pillars – Community engagement, Political Engagement, Domestic Collaboration and International collaboration. Our current projects and future plans are outlined in our Prospectus, which we are happy to provide on request.
