Habitat for Humanity Victoria is part of a global organisation, working in more than 70 countries worldwide towards its vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Established in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International is the world’s number one for-purpose provider of housing and improved shelter for low income people in need.
In pursuit of this vision, Habitat Victoria builds safe and secure homes and undertakes home repairs, all aimed at building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Without access to affordable housing, people risk being trapped in poverty and lack a foundation.
Habitat Victoria also operates a social enterprise supporting the circular economy by selling repurposed goods, with all profits invested into housing programs. ‘Restores’ are employed almost entirely by volunteers who dedicate over 1,000 hours per month to keep Restores operating.
