Hinterland Bush Links is a not-for-profit organisation based in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, which aims to connect, restore and protect native vegetation for landscape-scale conservation. Our mission is to empower, support and educate landholders to improve wildlife corridors and enhance biodiversity through working closely with them, community volunteers and other environmental organisations. As part of our projects, we run community volunteer tree planting, weed removal and education events throughout the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
Through our two-year Koala Habitat project, we planted 5140 trees, revegetating 5.5 hectares and removing invasive weeds from 17.6 hectares across 20 properties, to improve habitat for koalas in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. We integrate education into all our events and also run specific workshops for landholders and community members, such as methods to restore habitat for koalas.
