Home Ground Hub

Home Ground Hub is an organisation dedicated to uplifting and enhancing communities’ wellbeing and capabilities through varying initiatives, one of which is sport via the Yarra Futsal Ballers, Yarra Futsal Network, and/or Fitzroy Lions. We provide free access to sports for individuals from under-represented backgrounds and households facing financial difficulties, ensuring everyone remains active and socially engaged.

Our programs predominantly support children from diverse backgrounds, including those from war-torn countries. Many of their parents, also victims of war, have faced significant challenges such as limited education and financial hardship, often leading to single parenthood. These difficulties can have lasting impacts on the children, who may struggle with the aftermath.

Our goal is to use sports as a tool to offer a safe and accessible environment where participants can enjoy physical activity without major constraints. Additionally, we aim to leverage sports as a means of fostering commitment and early prevention. By engaging in sports, our participants can avoid undesirable circumstances and instead have the opportunity to build a better, more prosperous future.

This approach not only promotes physical health but also provides a foundation for social and emotional well-being, helping to break cycles of disadvantage and empowering our young participants to thrive.
