The Hunter Region Botanic Gardens (HRBG) spans 125 hectares at Heatherbrae, NSW, and is the only botanic garden serving the Hunter Valley.
Established in 1985 and operated entirely by volunteers, HRBG features 26 hectares of themed gardens and extensive native bushland. It plays a vital role in conservation, propagation of native and local flora, botanical research, public education, and volunteer-based training across horticulture, hospitality and business operations.
With minimal government funding, HRBG relies on grants, sponsorships, and donations to continue operations. Funding of the gardens will support environmental conservation, education, and build volunteer capacity—contributing directly to regional biodiversity, community wellbeing, and environmental education now and into the future.
