inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence (inTouch) has provided culturally responsive family violence services to migrant and refugee communities in Victoria since 1984.
inTouch operates across the family violence continuum, providing culturally-informed early intervention, case management, legal and migration assistance, perpetrator programs, post-crisis recovery, and capability development. We provide leadership and guidance to all government levels with evidence-based policy and advocacy.
Our services are delivered through an integrated inLanguage, inCulture model supported by a diverse workforce, mainly comprising migrants and refugees. Our team’s unique understanding of culture and migration journeys allows inTouch to offer expert case management in over 20 languages.
inTouch’s services include:
– Case management with first-hand understanding of migration journeys and cultural barriers women face in seeking family violence assistance.
– inTouch Women’s Legal Centre, the first multidisciplinary practice in Australia to provide inclusive services at the intersection of family and migration law.
– inSpire, a recovery initiative for victim-survivors focusing on holistic wellbeing support.
– Policy, advocacy, and research that influences government legislation, service provision, and media coverage, informed by victim-survivors and our client services team.
– A suite of learning modules for the family violence and social services sectors, informed by victim-survivors’ experiences and inTouch’s expertise.
– Motivation for Change, a specialized inLanguage, inCulture program for men who use violence, focusing on trauma and migration impacts.
– Capability strengthening projects and resource development for multicultural communities and community service organisations.
– NOOR Family Violence Survivor-Advocates, migrant, and refugee victim-survivors who influence policy, service provision, and media reporting with lived experience.
