Keeley’s Cause

Keeley’s Cause is a Multi Award winning National Australian charity dedicated to empowering children of low socioeconomic families diagnosed with autism and intellectual disabilities by providing them with iPads to support their education and communication needs.

Founded by Keeley Johnson at just 13 years old, after experiencing first-hand the barriers to learning without assistive technology, Keeley’s Cause is committed to ensuring every child, regardless of their abilities, has access to the tools they need to succeed. Keeley herself has Autism and a Mild Intellectual Disability.

Her mission is to create an inclusive learning environment where children with disabilities are given the same opportunities as their peers.
Her vision is a world where technology bridges the gap for children with diverse learning needs, enabling them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through inclusive educations tailored to each child’s individual needs.

The need for our work is urgent. Many children with autism and intellectual disabilities struggle in traditional educational settings, leading to increased anxiety, disengagement, and academic setbacks.

iPads provide an essential tool for learning, communication, and emotional regulation—yet many families cannot afford them. Keeley’s Cause steps in to fill this gap.

To date, Keeley has provided over 497 iPads to children across Australia, positively impacting their education and quality of life.

With additional funding, we can expand our reach, provide more devices, and advocate for inclusive education on a larger scale as there is NO Government funding to support children with disabilities in Australia with iPad technology.
