Learning Links is a not-for-profit organisation serving children experiencing difficulties with learning or learning disabilities. Founded in 1972 by parents concerned about the lack of appropriate education and support services to meet their children’s needs, Learning Links’ mission is to work in partnership with families, schools and communities to provide expertise and evidence-based supports for children’s literacy and numeracy, communication, and wellbeing outcomes.
Today at least one in five children will start school with development vulnerabilities across core communication, wellbeing, and cognitive domains. For children who experience difficulties with learning early on, particularly those experiencing disadvantage, the odds of catching up to their peers are slim. By high school, they are ten times more likely to fall below national minimum literacy and numeracy standards.
At Learning Links, we are committed to closing that gap. We envision a community where all children are understood and supported to reach their full potential. Each year, we serve 6,800+ children across our six Sydney-based Learning Centres, online services, school-based programs, and early childhood initiatives.
Funding from our community is vital. It enables us to deliver evidence-informed multidisciplinary services for the children we serve at a subsidised or fully covered cost. Support can include critical assessments, counselling, speech therapy, or specialist literacy and numeracy support. For 50+ years, we’ve invested in children, families, and educators—ensuring that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, has the opportunity to thrive at school and in life. Please consider supporting our work or getting in touch today.
