Life Centre for Youth Development & Empowerment Inc. (LICAYDE) is a youth-focused, multicultural not-for-profit organisation based in Woodville Gardens, supporting young people aged 7, 12–25 from refugee, migrant, and CALD backgrounds. We provide a safe, inclusive Youth Hub where young people can develop leadership skills, build confidence, improve digital literacy, access mentoring, express culture through music and arts, and strengthen their wellbeing and community connection.
Our organisation was founded on lived experience, which allows us to work with cultural understanding, trust, and strong community relationships. We are well-placed to address challenges faced by CALD youth, including social isolation, low confidence, digital exclusion, unemployment, and barriers caused by settlement and financial hardship.
Our current priorities include expanding our leadership and empowerment programs, delivering digital skills and job readiness training, and strengthening youth infrastructure at the LICAYDE Youth Hub. Funding will help us continue providing free, culturally safe programs that improve confidence, skills, and opportunities for CALD young people.
