Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney

Lifeline Macarthur & Western Sydney (Lifeline MWS) is a not-for-profit organisation delivering 24/7 crisis support, suicide prevention services, free financial counselling, training and community wellbeing programs. We directly support 16 local government areas across Western Sydney and the Macarthur region, while also answering crisis calls Australia-wide as part of the national Lifeline network.

Our mission is simple and vital, to ensure that no one faces crisis alone. Every day, we support people experiencing emotional distress, mental health challenges, financial hardship, domestic and family violence, and social isolation — pressures that continue to grow amid rising cost-of-living and housing stress.

In the financial year ending 2025, Lifeline MWS:
– Answered 68,897 crisis calls.
– Delivered 26,161 hours of crisis support.
– Created 4,313 safety plans for people at risk.
– Was supported by 249 volunteer crisis supporters, 74 paid crisis supporters, and 21 volunteer student mentors.

Lifeline MWS is uniquely placed to respond through an integrated model of crisis intervention, early support, financial counselling and community outreach. Our trained staff and volunteers provide professional, confidential and compassionate care that helps people stay safe and regain stability.

Our current priorities include strengthening our 24/7 crisis response, expanding free financial counselling, increasing outreach and training, and investing in sustainable infrastructure. Funding directly supports frontline services — enabling more calls to be answered, more lives supported, and stronger, safer communities.
