Lifeline Northern Beaches

Our vision is An Australia free of suicide, and our purpose is to create connection for people in crisis and empower individuals and communities to be safe from suicide.
9 lives a day are lost to suicide, 1 in 6 Australians aged between 16-85 have experienced suicidal thoughts. 135 people are impacted by each suicide death.

Our goal is to increase capacity of accessible prevention services to all. We must raise 80% of our own funding for our local services and we rely on our community to help us solve this problem. At Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli we have an expert and holistic understanding of suicide and what people need when they are disconnecting from life in our local community.

97% of help-seekers who engage our counselling and financial counselling services report feeling more positive or hopeful about the future.

Our current priorities include a much-needed renovation to ensure a safe and trauma informed headquarters for help-seekers and volunteers. We need unrestricted funds to support the growing demand for our affordable and no cost counselling services, and right now we are running our annual End of Financial Year Appeal that seeks to raise $200,000 to ensure our 10-seat Crisis Support Centre, which answers over 50,000 calls a year, can remain operational.
