Organisation Summary

Living Child was founded in 2013 by midwife Sara David AM. Since then, we have worked to advance maternal health, WASH, nutrition and community resilience and safety in the Greater Sepik region of Papua New Guinea. Our projects are driven and implemented by our team in PNG, with technical assistance and fundraising support from our team in Australia.

Our Healthy Families, Strong Communities program is currently operating in six villages and is supporting 58 volunteers to influence health behaviour change with education and resources. We have trained over 80 Village Birth Attendants in maternal health promotion, distributed 18,000 clean birth kits to rural/remote health centres and supplied 1,350 reusable menstrual hygiene kits to girls and women across the Sepik.
