Lucy’s Project creates permanent systemic change to reduce incidences of violence against people and animals experiencing domestic and family abuse. We remove the unnecessary roadblocks to safety by highlighting the link between animal abuse and increased risk to human life in the presence of domestic violence.
We do this through our four pillared approach, CARE:
- Collaboration – bringing together a network of human and animal services to proactively improve safety outcomes.
- Advocacy and Awareness – speaking truth to power, highlighting the issues and their solutions.
- Research – improving understanding of the key issues and impact.
- Education- delivering and sharing up to the minute resources, information and safety planning tools to reduce the impact of domestic and family violence on people and animals.
Whilst our work is in high demand and we are respected nationally and internationally as the premier subject matter experts, we urgently need core operational funding to continue. We are credited with changing laws, policy and best practices nationally. Help us end the violence.
