Miracle Babies Foundation

Miracle Babies Foundation is a national, parent-led organisation working to ‘improve, support and enhance all lives impacted by a premature or sick birth’, providing vital peer support services, education and driving advocacy to achieve better long-term outcomes for children and the entire family unit following a baby being born premature or critically ill.

Built on lived experience, Miracle Babies Foundation deeply recognises that this journey needs more than just medical care, it needs a community.

More than 48,000 babies are born premature or critically ill each year (born as early as 22 weeks and facing months in hospital, potentially lifelong challenges), yet around 20,000 of these families are without access to support, the Foundation is therefore seeking funding to continue to scale and expand its program reach.

The Foundation’s programs are well recognised within the neonatal field.

Receiving no regular Government funding, the Foundation relies on community support and fundraising.

• Free, national 24-hour family support line (NurtureLine) – 1300 622 243
• In-Hospital cotside peer support, delivered up to 3 days per week in partnering Hospital neonatal units
• After-discharge specialised play and support groups (from birth to starting school)

Over the past 20+ years, the program has been proven to improve parental mental health and confidence, influence better health choices through education, increase the parent-child relationship and bonding, increase social connection and reduce isolation, while improving overall family wellbeing.
