Morwell Neighbourhood House

Morwell Neighbourhood House is a welcoming, inclusive, and community-led organisation in the Latrobe Valley. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive space where people can connect, learn, and take part in programs that respond to local needs. Guided by the values of equity, inclusion, and empowerment, our vision is for a connected and resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

We address key issues such as social isolation, disadvantage, and food insecurity by offering a wide range of grassroots programs. These include food relief and meal support through initiatives like The People’s Kitchen, social groups such as the Loveable Larrikins men’s program, digital inclusion and skills training, volunteering pathways, and community events. Our activities meet immediate needs while also creating opportunities for connection, wellbeing, and participation.

MNH is best placed to do this work because of our strong community relationships, local knowledge, and commitment to co-designing solutions with residents. Each year, hundreds of people engage with our programs, from families accessing food relief, to older residents building digital skills, to individuals finding friendship and support through social groups.

Our current priorities are to strengthen food security, reduce social isolation, support community-led initiatives, and create pathways for participation and inclusion. Funding will allow us to sustain and expand these efforts, ensuring we can continue to meet growing demand and respond flexibly to emerging community needs.
