Established in 1959, the Heart Foundation has worked alongside communities across Australia to prevent heart disease, support people living with heart conditions, and invest in life-saving research. For more than 65 years, our purpose has been grounded in community. Today, we are working towards a bold vision – that heart health will be achievable for everyone in Australia by 2050.

Heart disease remains one of Australia’s leading causes of death and disability, and its impact is not felt equally. A person’s heart health can be shaped by their circumstances, environment, and access to care. Through Health for Every Heart, the Heart Foundation is advancing heart health equity, investing in high-impact research, translating evidence into policy and practice and supporting people to prevent, detect and manage heart disease earlier.

Our programs bring this vision to life in communities. Through Champion4Change, we support First Nations people living with acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease to lead culturally safe prevention, education and advocacy, while Heart of the Nation helps build confidence to respond to cardiac arrest through practical CPR and AED awareness.
