Neuroblastoma Australia is a charity focused on raising funds for research into Neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer mainly affecting children under the age of 5 and is the leading cause of cancer death of children under 5 years old.

Funds are needed to develop more effective and safer treatments as current survival rates are around 50% for aggressive types of Neuroblastomas, and with current treatment having later effects such as hearing loss, infertility, lung and heart damage, bone and dental issues and an increased risk of getting another cancer before the age of 30.

As Neuroblastoma is considered a rare disease, it does not attract commercial funding and investment so there is a need to raise funds from individuals, the community at large and the Government. Neuroblastoma Australia ensures funds raised go to innovative research selected by an independent and world-class scientific advisory board.

In addition to funding research, Neuroblastoma Australia provides support to families on their journey, including organising support groups with social workers, communicating accurate information on the disease and treatments, and delivering customised packs of useful items for parents and children in hospital to help with long term stays. Neuroblastoma Australia also advocates on behalf of families impacted to highlight the need for the Government to help children with cancer who are disadvantaged due to being a small and silent minority.
