Oncothera Advocacy is an Australian registered charity and not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving access to new innovative cancer care through theranostics – a breakthrough approach that combines targeted diagnostics with personalised therapy.

Our vision is a future where all Australians, regardless of location or circumstance, can access world-class cancer treatments. Our mission is to advocate for equitable access, raise awareness, and support patients and families navigating the theranostics journey.

The issue we address is access. While theranostics offers precision, fewer side effects, and better outcomes for patients with cancers such as prostate, thyroid, skin, and neuroendocrine tumours, (among others) availability in Australia is limited and often delayed by systemic barriers in policy, funding, and awareness. Patients face inequities depending on geography, socioeconomic status, and health literacy.

Oncothera Advocacy is uniquely positioned to respond: our leadership combines lived experience with deep expertise in research, policy, and healthcare communication. We work alongside clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates to ensure patients’ voices drive policy reform and healthcare innovation.

Our current priorities are:

• Building patient and community resources for education and support.
• Advocating for fair policy and funding models to ensure accessible treatment.
• Creating partnerships that amplify patient voices in decision-making.
