Open Haven provides long-term, trauma-informed recovery support for women and children impacted by domestic and family violence. Through community-based hubs across Moreton Bay, Brisbane and Logan, we support women and their children at the critical point where crisis support ends and structured recovery begins.

Domestic and family violence does not end when a woman leaves. Without sustained, coordinated support, women and their children remain vulnerable to housing instability, financial insecurity, trauma-related health impacts and social isolation. Open Haven addresses this gap through holistic, evidence-informed case management and personalised Restoration Plans that rebuild stability across housing, education, employment, financial capability and community connection.

Our model combines time, consistency and coordination to enable lasting change. Weekly hub engagement provides structured support and connection, underpinned by individualised planning and ongoing case management to navigate complex systems and remove barriers. We coordinate access to specialist child psychology and practical supports such as driving lessons to remove barriers to independence and strengthen parent-child relationships. Women and their children also access mentoring, employment pathways and essential material assistance, supported by strong referral partnerships to ensure continuity of care and wraparound support. By prioritising early intervention and sustained engagement, we build resilience, restore confidence and help disrupt intergenerational cycles of violence.

Open Haven’s recovery model reduces repeat reliance on crisis systems and strengthens long-term safety, stability and wellbeing. Demand for our services continues to grow as communities recognise the critical gap between crisis intervention and the sustained support required to achieve lasting independence.
