Oz Assist Inc

Oz Assist is a volunteer organisation that works to assist the disadvantaged, elderly, families, individuals and domestic violence victims, through advocacy and emergency relief and everyday living requirements, on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland to achieve the best results they can in their circumstances. In many cases our clientele often fall "through the cracks" and Oz Assist supports them with care, dignity and respect.

One of the main differences is that Oz Assist has and is different from other local charities. We give “food only cards” to our clientele.

Why Food Only Cards?
One of our main ways of assisting clientele is through food cards. Whilst families and individuals can go to a Charity and receive a food parcel, there is a large gap due to allergies (eg. allergic reactions to various food items, “gluten intolerance”, “nut allergies”, “celiac condition” and clients who have anaphylaxis). The food-only cards helped the aforementioned because of their many medical conditions.
Through the food cards families can also purchase baby formula, baby food, nappies, wipes, and other food items for children that do not come in a food parcel including butter, eggs, various types of vegetables, fresh fruit, meat and laundry needs.

We have given the Food Only Cards to assist, from babies to the very elderly (85 years old) and including Domestic Violence victims.
