Pets In The Park (PITP) is a not-for-profit national charity that provides free veterinary care to the pets of people experiencing homelessness via a national community of monthly pop-up veterinary clinics held at 11 locations around the country.
Our aim is to build positive relationships with, and improve the mental wellbeing of, homeless people in society living with their animal companions. Access is via referral from local support organisations to ensure homeless eligibility criteria and genuine need are met.
All PITP clinics are run by veterinary and community volunteers where pets receive full veterinary health checks, vaccinations, parasite control, microchips, and essential medications. Those patients requiring desexing and other surgical procedures are added to a waiting list and organised via third party veterinary affiliates.
