REEL Mates is a not-for-profit mentoring program supporting young people aged 10–18 in Western Sydney who have experienced domestic and family violence, disadvantage, or who lack positive role models.
Using recreational fishing as an accessible and aspirational activity, we foster resilience, wellbeing, and social connection. Led by experienced community leaders with deep local networks, REEL Mates builds bridges between young people, families, schools, and services. Our programs are delivered by trained mentors, supported by strong governance, and designed to improve educational engagement, mental health, and community safety.
