Rise Which Way

Rise Which Way Inc is a community-led organisation based in Moorooka, Brisbane, dedicated to empowering at-risk youth, supporting reintegration after incarceration, and preventing suicide through culturally grounded, trauma-informed programs.

Our vision is a nation where every young person, especially those impacted by the justice system can heal, reconnect, and thrive. Our mission is to reduce recidivism by fostering dignity, family connection, and cultural identity through art therapy, mentoring, and holistic support.

We address the urgent need for safe, inclusive spaces where vulnerable youth can rebuild their lives. With deep ties to Indigenous communities and lived experience leadership, Rise is uniquely placed to deliver healing programs that resonate.

Current priorities include:

• Monthly mentor-mentee outings to strengthen relationships and reduce isolation.
• Help individuals with essential packages, food vouchers and go cards when released from prison.
• Art exhibitions showcasing participant work in Brisbane libraries.
• Expansion of our ID and Essentials Package Project, which has already supported over 100 individuals’ post-incarceration.

Funding will directly support these initiatives, enabling us to provide transport, meals, art supplies, and culturally safe facilitation. Together, we’re building a healing village one brushstroke, one conversation, one life at a time.
