For more than 97 years, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has provided the finest care to the furthest corners.

Our expert teams provide 24/7 essential, lifesaving, emergency, and primary healthcare to rural, regional, and remote communities where access to healthcare is limited. From our South Eastern Section bases at Bankstown, Broken Hill, and Dubbo our highly skilled doctors, nurses, dentists, mental health clinicians and other specialists fly or drive to remote communities across NSW to deliver a comprehensive range of health services, including emergency retrievals, hospital transfers, GP and nurse appointments, dental care, mental health care, alcohol and other drug counselling, vaccinations, chronic disease management and telehealth.

For many of the communities we serve, the RFDS is more than a health provider, we’re a constant presence, a trusted face, and often the only lifeline for care. When there are no other services nearby, we are the GP clinic, the emergency department, the mental health team, and the dental practice. Without us, some remote communities simply could not exist.

Generous donations to the RFDS (South Eastern Section) help us ensure that every Australian, regardless of location, has access to our lifesaving medical services and specialist care. In FY24/25 our teams travelled over 3,175,000km to provide over 93,000 occasions of care. This simply wouldn’t be possible with public support.
